In the uniform unit, there is a unit on language which requires you to guess at the meanings and uses of certain phrases and language we see throughout the interview of the manager of Mori Shoukai, the uniform store. Please follow the language activities in the order that they occur in the packet. This packet is quite challenging and is recommended for students with more advanced language skills.

Activity 1: Exploring the Vocabulary

Please watch the videos again, and try to find out the meanings of these words in English. Even though you may need to look them up in the dictionary, but please try to guess their meanings based on the context in the video. I gave you the clips where you can find these words.


Activity 2: Finding Foreign Loanwords
2. There are a lot of foreign loanwords in Japanese. These words may come from English, German, and many other languages. See how many you can find in the videos and write down what you find.

Activity 3: Eavesdropping

Pick one video in the style section and transcribe what you hear in as much detail as possible. You will need to watch the video a few times to grasp all of the details. Please write everything in kana or kanji.e set of videos (either uniforms, free-time, clubs, or cleaning), and write down their transcripts in Japanese.

Activity 4: Short-Answer Questions

These are several short-answer questions which will show your ability to pick up on small details in the videos and respond to questions in Japanese. Please write your answers in one or two complete sentences, in Japanese.

Activity 5: Essay Question

Please answer this question with as much detail as possible, complete sentences, and write in paragraph form:
