About the Videos

There are a great deal of videos in this unit taken from an actual interview of two high school students in Japan. There are eight topics in this unit, each with responses from our two high school students.

Please while watching these videos, think about the differences and similarities between their feelings on these topics and yours. Also, try to place yourself in their situation...What would you do if you were a high school student in Japan?

Activities Packet

This packet contains several activities which will help you understanding the video and Japanese high school life.

Please do these activities in order they appear in the packet.

Language Unit

The language activities contained in this unit serve as a basis for your teacher to develop more detailed activities.

They require you to view the videos and do several activities from coming up with interview questions to exploring the vocabulary and grammar in the videos, and even transcribing the conversations.

This unit is indeed challenging and is recommended for those in at least second or third year High School Japanese.
